How Houndy recommends events

Houndy personalises your discovery experience so you see events you're likely to enjoy — not just the most popular ones. This page explains exactly how that works, what we track, and how you stay in control.

What signals we use

How recommendations are generated

Houndy builds a taste profile from your interactions. This profile tracks which categories you engage with most (e.g. music, comedy, sport), which venues you revisit, and what price ranges you explore.

When you open the Discover view, Houndy ranks upcoming events by combining:

Your taste profile (most weight)
Event freshness and date proximity
Platform-wide trending signals
Editorial curation and featured events
Your location (if you enable it)

Anonymous users (not logged in) receive recommendations based on their current session only. Creating an account lets us persist and improve your profile over time.

What we don't do

We do not sell your taste profile to advertisers
We do not share your individual interaction data with event promoters
We do not use your data to profile you beyond event discovery
We do not use inferred sensitive characteristics (e.g. religion, health) for recommendations

Your controls

Reset personalisation

Clears your taste profile and starts fresh. Recommendations will return to editorial defaults.

See why you're seeing events

Event cards show a "Why am I seeing this?" tooltip explaining the personalisation signal.

Deleting your data

You can delete your full account and all associated data via Privacy Settings → Delete my account. This removes your taste profile, saved events, searches, and all personal data within 30 days.
